Rollers are cylindrical components used in conveyors, grinders, and other technical equipment to support and guide belts, move loads in a specified direction, and perform other functions. Rollers reduce friction, minimize wear of conveyor belts and other structural elements, help maintain the center of gravity, and prevent load displacement. New Standard offers roller manufacturing services for conveyors and other types of equipment.
Roller Classification
Modern rollers can be manufactured from a variety of materials. The most common options include metals (structural steel, stainless steel, aluminum alloys), polymer materials (polypropylene, polyethylene, polyurethane, and others), rubber, as well as composite materials. The choice of material depends on the type of load, load capacity, operating conditions, and required properties such as corrosion resistance or shock absorption.
Rollers | Design Features and Functional Purpose
- Straight rollers – used as support elements for flat conveyor belts.
- Trough rollers – form a trough shape for load-carrying conveyor belts.
- Deflector rollers – prevent lateral belt misalignment; can be top, bottom, or self-centering.
- Impact (cushioning) rollers – reduce mechanical impact during technological operations.
- Disc or cleaning rollers – used to clean the conveyor belt from dirt and materials adhering during operation.
- Drive rollers – equipped with an integrated drive mechanism and used in beltless conveyor systems.
- Conical rollers – have a conical shape and are used on curved sections of the conveyor.
- Self-aligning rollers.
Depending on load capacity, rollers can be classified as light-duty, medium-duty, and heavy-duty. Light-duty rollers are used for transporting light loads and are usually manufactured as non-disassemblable units. Medium-duty rollers, intended for moderate technological operations, typically have a disassemblable design. Heavy-duty rollers often feature a rubber coating to increase wear resistance.
How to Order Conveyor Roller Manufacturing
New Standard provides services for manufacturing parts and metal products based on the customer’s drawings or samples. Conveyor roller production is carried out in accordance with technical documentation, taking into account design requirements, materials, and operating conditions.
Cost of Conveyor Roller Manufacturing | Key Factors
- dimensions and design complexity of the parts;
- manufacturing material — production of rollers made of polyurethane, steel, aluminum, or other materials;
- manufacturing lead time;
- order volume — the larger the batch, the lower the unit price.
To order conveyor rollers, the customer needs to contact New Standard specialists by phone or email and provide the initial technical data. Based on the received information, a calculation is performed considering the product design, materials, accuracy requirements, and operating conditions to determine the cost and production time.
Roller manufacturing is carried out using CNC equipment in accordance with the approved technical specification. At all stages of production, compliance of geometric and technical parameters with the design documentation is monitored. After completion, the rollers are packaged and delivered to the customer within Ukraine via courier services.
